  15. Once the basic program installation is complete, the OST program will
  16. automatically load and configure itself. This can be a lengthy process
  17. but only the very first time the program is loaded. Following that, the
  18. program will load much faster.
  19.  
  20. To start the program in the future, you should switch to the subdirectory
  21. where you installed the program (i.e. \OST), type OST, and then press
  22. [ENTER].  If the program has not been registered, a shareware and
  23. registration reminder screen will appear.  After reading this screen
  24. carefully, press any key to proceed. A title and copyright screen will be
  25. displayed, along with the program Main Menu.

  27. Please refer to the files WHATSNEW.xxx (where "xxx" represents the
  28. product release version number) for information regarding new program
  29. changes, features, and enhancements.

  32. QUICK START
  33. -----------
  34. In order to make FULL use of this program, you will need to read the
  35. manual, which is supplied as the file MANUAL.TXT.  However, to get
  36. started quickly just to see what the program looks like, simply switch to
  37. the subdirectory where you have installed the program files (i.e. CD
  38. OST), type OST and press [ENTER].  The program contains context-sensitive
  39. Help which you can call by pressing the [F1] key.

  42. COLOR/MONOCHROME MONITORS
  43. -------------------------
  44. This program will check to see if you have a color video card installed
  45. in your computer. If it finds one, it will automatically set the screen
  46. display to the color settings. If it finds a monochrome video card, it
  47. will automatically set the screen display to the monochrome settings. If
  48. you are using a color card with a monochrome monitor, the program may not
  49. display properly. However, you can go back to the DOS prompt and restart
  50. the program using the command  OST M  to restart the program in forced
  51. monochrome mode.

  54. USER'S MANUAL & REGISTRATION FORM
  55. ---------------------------------
  56. To View or Print the registration form, move to the far right, select the
  57. UTILITIES menu and press [ENTER]. Then using the Down Arrow key, select
  58. the "Registration Form" option and press [ENTER].  You will be able to
  59. view the registration form before you print it.

  61. The User's Manual is included in a file called MANUAL.TXT.  It can also
  62. be printed either from the menu option, or from the DOS command line. To
  63. print it from the DOS command line, change to the directory in which
  64. MANUAL.TXT resides. Then enter the following command to print the manual:

  66.       COPY MANUAL.TXT PRN

  68. To View or Print the manual from within the program, move to the far
  69. right, select the UTILITIES menu and press [ENTER]. Then using the Down
  70. Arrow key, select the "User's Manual" option and press [ENTER].  You will
  71. be able to view the manual on screen before you print it.

  157. Office Supplies Tracker (OST) is provided with an installation utility,
  158. which will not only install the program for you, but will also test your
  159. system for the necessary hard drive space, minimum DOS version, and
  160. necessary settings in your CONFIG.SYS file.
  161.  
  162. The program will install the OST program to your hard disk drive, and
  163. will provide you with a default subdirectory name (\OST). We recommend
  164. that you use this default directory name, but you are free to change it.
  165.  
  166. The install program will also check your CONFIG.SYS file for necessary
  167. parameters, and will update those settings for you if necessary (if you
  168. don't want the program to make these changes for you, just select "N" and
  169. you can modify them manually).

  171. If any changes are made to your CONFIG.SYS and/or AUTOEXEC.BAT files,
  172. your system must be rebooted in order for the changes to take effect.

  174. When the installation is complete, the OST program will automatically
  175. load and configure itself.

  182. Office Supplies Tracker is a "shareware" program and is provided to the
